Push to Talk for the TH-D74

Push to Talk for the Kenwood TH-D74

I use the Kenwood TH-D74 in my car and at my desk. Along with the radio, I use a Bluetooth Headset for communications.

I wanted an easier (to use) Push to Talk (PTT) method.

In the image below is a cord with a Push Button on one end and two connectors on the other.

The cord is connected to the Normally Open contacts under the push button sleeve.

Each contact of the Push Button is connected by the cord to the sleeve of a 3.5 mm and 2.5 mm plug.

Shorting the two sleeves (pushing the button) causes the Push to Talk action on the Th-D74 radio.

This setup works great when the Bluetooth headset is connected to the radio.
