NCR Trail – Whistle Post

On Wednesday August 20, 2014, I took a walk on the NCR Trail

starting in Railroad, Pennsylvania. Railroad is at the 3 mile marker. There were a few cars in the parking lot off of Pa Route 851 when I arrived. Another car was parking just after I got there. I started out at about 12:30 pm and proceeded downhill (North) towards Glen Rock.

The image included here was taken at about the 3.75 mile marker. The Camera was still in Expressive mode from the night before. This is the reason for the bright greens.

The whistle sign is the warning for the Taylor Hill Road Crossing a little further down hill. The Federal Railroad Administration has rules (June 2005) for the train whistle operation.

The trail was busy for a Wednesday! Plenty of walkers, and bicyclists. No equine travelers.

I turned around at the 4.5 mile marker and returned to my car with a 3 mile round-trip walk for the day.
