NCR Trail – Summit

NCR Trail – Summit – New Freedom

An early Springtime view of a climb to the Summit on the NCR Trail. The trees are showing signs of new growth and the sun appears to be shining over the 1 mile marker in New Freedom, Pennsylvania. This point is about 827 feet above sea level.

The town of New Freedom was incorporated in 1879. It is named after Peter Free who owned a farm in the area in the 1800’s. Check out the History of York County, Pennsylvania for more information on New Freedom’s history! The book is an interesting read!

Here are some more books on York County and its history. Books both electronic and paper!
