Torrey C Brown Trail – Phoenix

Torrey C Brown Trail – Phoenix – Gunpowder Falls

The Phoenix parking lot is at the 2 mile marker of the NCR Trail. This area (parking and trail) is well maintained with gardens, an informative kiosk, and benches.

Be aware there there is a stairs down to the Gunpowder Falls. The landing pad at the bottom of the stairs is a bit of a safety hazard. The pad is tilted at the right (Northwest) part of the pad is sinking deeper into the Gunpowder falls bedding. One needs to be aware of their footing when stepping on to this pad!

When I walked this part of the trail on September 26, 2014, the trail was well traveled with bikers, runners and walkers. I started at the Sparks parking lot (3.9 mile marker) worked my way down to the 2 mile marker at Phoenix, walked up North to the 4 mile marker and then back to the Sparks parking lot.

There are water springs along the side of the NCR Trail in various areas. There is a spring between the 2 and 4 mile marker which keeps an area of the trail a bit wet (at all times).

There is a nature center and restroom at the Sparks parking lot.
