NCR Trail – Flowering Plant

NCR Trail – Flowering Plant Observed  While walking the NCR Trail in Summer

I often see these purple plants growing along the side. According to research, this is a Fall Phlox or Phlox paniculata. They grow in Summer to Fall and are common in the wild! I have taken a number of images over the years trying to get the purple to show. This image was taken on August 9, 2012, at the 15.8 mile marker. Also known as Bentley Springs.
