NCR Trail – Butterfly Nut

NCR Trail

Butterfly and Nut side by side at the 4.6 mile marker – Between Glen Rock and Railroad, Pennsylvania. This particular butterfly is a Red-Spotted Purple. They are suppose to be fast & hard to catch.

The nut is another story. Perhaps it was used in conjunction with the railroad. Maybe on
signaling equipment or on a truck used to service the tracks. Judging from the rust, it has been there for a while.
