Gunpowder Falls – The Wrought Iron Bridge
was built in 1898 by a company called the Wrought Iron Bridge Company of Canton, Ohio. There is a plaque at the top of the bridge showing this information. Some rehabilitation work was done to the bridge in 2000.
The bridge is on the Inventory of Historic Properties by the Maryland Historical Trust.
The bridge is open for automotive traffic, one lane only! There is not a great deal of traffic. I have walked the bridge and taken pictures of the Gunpowder Falls, the bridge and people fishing.
This view is from the North side of the bridge looking South.
