Glenville, Pennsylvania – CSX Train

This image was taken on August 6, 2014. This is a CSX Open Top Hopper Car passing through Glenville, Pennsylvania. These cars can hold up to 110 tons of coal, sand or other resources. The CSXT designation stands for CSX Transportation Inc. The Rail Cars and track are both a part of CSXT.

Glenville is a community along PA Route 216, and Codorus Creek in Southern York County, Pennsylvania. In the late 1800s early 1900s the Glenville Foundry and Manufacturing Company was located here. They did Iron Castings and other Manufacturing Repair activities.

In the background is the Snyder Mill Inc.

Update April 17, 2018 – PA Route 216 is closed in this area. A bridge right about at the point where this image was take is closed for repairs. The estimated time to completion is 7 months.
